So let's see..I have decided to gather up all known stuff about my PB and post it here in the hopes that someone can help. Otherwise, it's off to Apple Monday.<br><br>Problem: Constant beachballs (lasts 5 seconds to minutes) that aren't on a regular basis nor software-related it seems.<br><br>1. Replaced ram...still get it.<br>2. Clean install....still get it.<br>3. No hacks/haxies installed<br>4. Checked the "logs" in Apple System Profiler...the one thing that looked questionable was that it couldn't view someone's AIM icon...so I placed a pic by me in their info and still get the beachballs.<br>5. I almost forgot this..but tonight I got this for the 2nd time while Mail.app runs:<br>There was a failure while writing to the disk. The disk may be full. The mailbox will be restored to its state before compaction.<br>(mail.app crashes shortly after this)<br><br>Anything else? I'll more than likely call Apple tomorrow and have them send a box.<br><br>My stuff for sale.

Yeah, but you never even see the money from the home sale, it just goes back into the new one and you have a new mortgage payment. It's not exactly like I have a pile of money sitting in front of me, although that would be nice.<br><br>Well. I truly hope you get your problems resolved with the PB or end up with the new G5 here shortly. <br><br>

try using the PB with the network connection shut off. If you have an airport shut that off, and boot up with the ethernet unplugged. Don't run any mail apps or anything like a browser.<br><br>--- or -----<br><br>when it starts to beach ball, try to kill the Finder<br><br><br>it could be a network connection that goes into never neverland. Which could mean it's your ISP that is hiccuping and cause the PB to beach ball.<br><br>another thing, do you have a good quality surge protector? Maybe you have a bad power problem in your area. If your lights dim once in awhile in your apartment you might want to consider even a small UPS.<br><br>Other than that, I can think of any external problems that might cause the PB to work just fine at Apple when you send it in but work like crap at your place.<br><br>You might also want to consider using it at another location, like a friend or family members house. Use their network (best if it's a different ISP) and power outlet and see if the problem pops up there too.<br><br>[color:blue]Coming soon...</font color=blue>
