If you don't KNOW it's counterfeit, then you don't know. You will be out of that $20 or whatever the denomination is and nothing you can do about it except go back to wherever you got it from and get the money from them.

The reason behind the color and such is that it makes it harder to counterfeit. I have seen counterfeit money that was badly done (wrong kind of paper) and some good stuff...

That smart card sounds decent..but what's wrong with the debit card? I like that.

My stuff for sale.

"but what's wrong with the debit card?"

nothing, but the smart card doesn't need a telephone line to verify funds - it's an electronic wallet. So you can use it to buy a hot dog on the street corner (providing the vendor has a reader).

As the smart card tested in Guelph, was a card that didn't need a PIN and just needed to be waved in front of a scanner. In fact you could keep in your wallet and just wave the wallet in front of the scanner.

It was very fast - wave, *beep*, and you were done. Totally illiminated the need for cash to be exchanged.

[color:blue]United we stand
Course the drawback to that "wave" technique is if someone got ahold of a scanner and came up behind you...or if you were standing by one and turned around..."beep"...hehe.

Neat idea...

My stuff for sale.
