The National Press Club had an interesting panel discussion the other day, with "representatives" (which in this case really means people who are big voices in various communities in the US) from India, Pakistan, and Kashmir. As I say, they were all hyphenated Americans, so their positions are not necessarily those of the people in the various places. The most interesting perspective came from the Kashmiri, who argued that the people of Kashmir have becoe a plaything for the two nuclear powers, a position that they'd just as soon not occupy.

Great wits are sure to madness near allied.--John Dryden, "Absalom and Achitophel"

I wouldn't trust CNN if my life depended on it. During the 9/11 situation, they were making quite a few reports which sure looked sensationalistic to me. Not that they started doing it after 9/11. But I don't watch CNN to tell what they did earlier.

Stick to independant sources. BBC for one. If you want American sources, I think CS Monitor, Janes and Salon are good. They are ones I have read at.

Me? I am biased about the BBC. ;)

--
I am Dyslexic of Borg. Fusistance is retile. Your a$$ will be laminated.
Hey all,

There's a discussion over at another forum that I used to visit quite a lot earlier, but not much now-a-days.

It's at http://www.techsurvivors.net/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=007122.

I'm hoping to continue the discussion here if people are interested. Thanks for reading. :)

--
I am Dyslexic of Borg. Fusistance is retile. Your a$$ will be laminated.
I didn't quit, just going less and less. May or may not quit. Don't know. Their rules are pissing me off. Of course, it was meant to be a Mac discussion forum with light and humourous OT posts. But you know, needs change. I like it better here now. But some really intelligent, wise and old people run that place and I like them.

And I have my subscription to the YML (Shawn King) email list, which is an absolute anarchy (with occassional list-moming and booting the morons) and will remain so forever, and I love it!
