Ok, I might as well explain this the long way:

I imported a .mov file into my FCP project, and I have it on the timeline. I then edited out certain parts, and I then slapped the pieces back together & threw in some crossfades for transitions...

The same goes for the movie clip's audio. The only thing is that the audio has a number of pops and crackles that I'm sure occurred somewhere along the line of either importing it or the user saving it on the other end...

Regardless- what I want to do is edit out some of those pops and crackles- possibly in Peak- but I don't know how to get it out of FCP and into that program for editing... Or is there some audio filter or effect that will let me accomplish that in FCP itself?

[color:red]DaddyMac's MP3 to AAC conversion: left to go...
I would have to export each clip separately, right?

There's no way to select all the bladed clips and export it all as one big aif?

[color:red]DaddyMac's MP3 to AAC conversion: left to go...

I'm just guessing here, but...

Export as a Quicktime, and select AIFF as the format. It should just export the audio without the video.

Also, I find that I get better results when importing audio into FCP that has the same sampling rate as the FCP movie. For example, if FCP is set to 48Khz sampling, converting a 44100Hz sampled audio to 48Khz and then importing that one just works better inside FCP. I used to get pops and stuff before doing that.

[color:blue]Quitters never win, winners
never quit, but those who never win AND never quit are idiots.
I know I should know this, but how do I go about finding out what the sample rate is of the sound clip and my whole movie in general..?

The FCP movie should be 44100Hz, correct?

[color:red]DaddyMac's MP3 to AAC conversion: left to go...

FCP probably is set to NTSC DV with 48Khz (default I think)

Not in front of FCP, but it's part of the settings of the sequence - high res, med, low etc.

[color:blue]Quitters never win, winners
never quit, but those who never win AND never quit are idiots.
This is still AIFF format I'm exporting from QT now- just make sure it's at 48 khz?

Yeah yeah..upgrading to 4 isn't exactly in the budget right now...

When I finish this mosaic video, though, I'll be doing a wipe-n-reinstall, and maybe then I'll look at upping some of my apps..

Besides, it's not even out yet- right?

[color:red]DaddyMac's MP3 to AAC conversion: left to go...
