On my site there are 4 frames and when you resize the window (horizontally) the middle and top frames expand. Is there a way to have all of the frames static in size and have a background that would get bigger instead, and how would you do that? I would like an effect similar to the MM front page.

"If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something. "

to keep the frames the same size and have it centered you need 3 frames

left | center | right

set the center frame to 600 pixels in width, and set the left and right one to 50%

I would go easy on the frames if I were you...any more than two and you're asking for problems..

Try a frameless solution to your problem if it's possible...

[color:red]DaddyMac's MP3 to AAC conversion: left to go...

I would rather have a bloated, barley functioning, and slow loading website. That way i can keep the anticipation up while it's loading or when there trying to navigate my site but just can't get there because of the horrible layout.

"If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something. So you have plans to work for Microsoft at some point, eh?

Great wits are sure to madness near allied.--John Dryden, "Absalom and Achitophel"

You should rather use tables rather than frames for several reasons:
1. Frames load slower
2. Frames need one separate html and a main html, so it's complex
3. Frames can't be read by search engines properly
4. Some browsers have problems displaying frames

I used to prefer frames, but since I started using tables, I'd never go back unless there is really no other way to solve a layout.

Ok, I guess I'll take the Pro's advice (that includes you DM).

Here is the 4th version of my site, this time using tables instead of frames:

http://homepage.mac.com/greenme1/Alex's Page v4/index.html

"If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something. So far the only major problems are the sporadic change in visited link colors, and an overall lack of content. But i plan to fix both of them in the near future.

"If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something. "
Oh sure, you listen to Ivan when he tells you 'no frames', but me you choose to mock, huh?

[color:red]DaddyMac's MP3 to AAC conversion: left to go...
