Well, am still using Mac OS 9.2.2. Deleted OS X 10.1.4 last week. I hardly use it as it is and the damn thing is so slow!

--
I am Dyslexic of Borg. Fusistance is retile. Your a$$ will be laminated.

sly wink some of us haven't given up yet.,
though no doubt we will eventually be pushed .. either off the edge of our flat earth or onto the steeply inclining letter X

=============================================================
| "Behold the Turtle, he maketh no progress ==== until he sticketh out his neck." |
=============================================================

yes well I am temporarily back in OS 9.1 as my OS 9.2.2 installation has been playing up but then I am still attempting to do all of this on my aged and infirm 5500/250... which just does not have enough slots and ports and such like.. nor Xpandability.. :(

I did have a play with X last week and toyed with purchasing a new computer. I also took the hard drive from this and installed it in an even older Power Computing clone that had been upgraded to G3 status.. which gave me a faster computer and the abilty to have USB and Firewire but I would have had to buy a new monitor for an old computer.. hmmm I also tried a SOHO combo USB/Firewire card in thisa 5500 but.. even with the added hack of adding the PowerBook extension.. Firewire card bus enabler.. I could still not enable the use of the dual card in this computer.. though I do believe that the purchase of the Sonnet dual card may work... and I can get a G3/500 card but what a lot of bother, when my monitor seems to be getting darker and darker and all new software seems to be only for X?

=============================================================
| "Behold the Turtle, he maketh no progress ==== until he sticketh out his neck." |
=============================================================

I used to listen to the BBC Radio using Real Player previously when I had a PC. Now with my Mac, I refuse to install that wretched piece of garbage.

--
I am Dyslexic of Borg. Fusistance is retile. Your a$$ will be laminated.

Here's another example of why we need Real for X. One of the premium benefits at Salon.com is an audio book for free. Now, I'm not interested in any of them, so this doesn't affect me particularly. Nonetheless, all of the choices have RealPlayer as the only option.

And that's true too.--Shakespeare, King Lear
