Can anyone help me with MS Word "bloating"? My Word docs always balloon in size and I don't know why. I have learned how to decrease the size after it happens (save doc as different page size - like A4, then save back to letter size), but I don't know how to prevent the bloating in the first place...or if it's even possible. "Save as" the exact same name and it'll ask if you want to replace it, and say yes.

Check to see if you are using "fast save"

Some applications have a secret place (not really secret, you just don't see it) to store text which you replace, delete, etc. in case you want to "revert" back, etc. There are ways, according to the app, to wipe out that saved (balooning) extra excess. I don't have Word so can't be more specific, but used it extensively years ago.

Someone might come along and give you better info. Try "help" of Word and look up "save" and "save as" and "quick/fast save", etc.
