Whenever I download an Acrobat Reader document it does not open in the browser. Then, when I double click on it, it launches Classic. This is not only inconvenient but also seem to cause problems with printing. I have Acrobat Reader for OSX but I have to launch it and open the document in order for it to open in that application. Is there any way to set Acobat 5.0 as the default app to open reader documents? Thanks in advance for any help!

right click, or control click, on the icon of the PDF file. When you get the contextual menu, select "get info".

Goto the "open with..." drop down menu.

Change the selection to either Acrobat Reader 5.0 (which will open in X) or to "preview" which also displays PDF files.

click on the "change all" button and close the "get info" window....

then double click the file and let me know if it still opens in classic.

Statistics are like a bikini.
