I can't talk... the rumors aren't going my way this morning

[color:blue]Several prominent rumors over the past few months have indicated that we may see shipping PowerMac 970's at or around the WordWide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 23, 2003.

While early rumors have indicated that 970-related announcements/demos will be conducted at WWDC... the most optimistic claims indicate near-immediate availability.

Recent information, however, suggests that PowerMac development is still ongoing, and neither finalized nor in-production at this time. This would suggest that PowerMac 970's would not ship until some time well after WWDC.

NOOOooooooooooo! *stands in corner, pouting*

This is what it does to you when you take rumors too seriously

Aha....so that's it... Hmm let's come up with a juicy rumor ourselves and spread it! How about... everyone start with
Apple will release (and end it with whatever you'd like)
Then tell us how it will make our lives easier. ;)

There's going to be a lot of ticked off people in the forums on the opening day on WWDC. Of course, they always buy into the pre-show hype. I'm predicting announcement at MWNY, shipping in September ("later this summer").

Loc: Pacific NW, USA
Of course it is...I'm home for once. Unfortunately my back really hurts from riding to Bellevue and hitting the stairs in the mall. Sitting is hard and I didn't sleep well. So it will heat up when I leave for the doctor's office in a little bit.

ra_here's to the crazy ones
because they change things
Apple will release.... news that Microsoft was a genetic experiment that got out of hand due to a clumsy janitor. The primary focus of the experiment was to test the ability of technology to clone itself and with each new clone it would reject any aspects that didn't work properly in the previous version. It would do this by using cutting edge logic that allowed it to deny any trace memory of earlier versions.

These two entities were housed in seperate containers until the fateful night when both were mistaken for trash. The containers broke open when they were thrown into a dumpster along with faulty prototypes of eariler Apple computers.

The experiment mingled together and happened upon the trashed computer. In a case of genetics gone amuck, everything went wrong.

The rest is history. So everytime Microsoft release something that looks like an Apple product, but denys any similarity, you'll know the truth.

Hey, I tried...

The thread killer
Since I started it, I'll give it a shot:
Apple will release faster processors (the 970) for it's power systems. The new name nick name for the 970 will be CAT. Because it will have the speed of a cheeta and the power of a Catepillar engine...(LOL) and the abbreviation will stand for something impressive of course. The G4's will propagate down to replace the G3's. The power systems will be Quad Processor systems and will (as usually claimed) blow away any Windows system to date. The new enclosures will sport front and side USB & FireWire acess areas. Apple will release wireless keyboards and mice with all new systems purchased and also sell them online for an arm and a leg. Apple will introduce a faster processor for the 17" laptop and add a second processor there also. Their new ad campaign will be "Dare to Dream" and claim that with these systems you will be able to challenge the boundaries of science and math as well as quench the creative thirst for gigaflops. Steve Jobs will wear his usual garb. A black turtleneck and blue jeans. However he will show up on stage driving Dale Earnhard Jr's car right onto the stage as a show of power and speed. He will rant about the music he was playing in the car off of his iPod with songs downloaded from iTMS. He'll tell us how great it is doing. He'll release the Windows version and have Bill Gates or his monkey to announce that. He'll announce an update to Keynote, iSync, and finally release Safari for free. Quicktime will recieve a quiet update that fixes audio sync issues. 10.2.7 will be released quietly and you'll need that before installing any of those other apps. Final Cut Express will be free. (to compete with Avid's free tools). He'll sum up how Apple succeeded in a time of economic plight and tell us that Apple's market share in the next year or so of the PC market is going to grow "big time". Apple is full of people who Dare to Dream. He'll show us some commercials that will air on Prime Time Season show premiers.... "oh and one more thing....." This is where SJ goes off stage and smoke begins to fill the stage. Lightning appears to strike, and a brand new device emerges from the stage floor. This is the oft talked about Apple branded PDA with Mac OS XL(L for lite). The PDA will have wireless capabilities, a 40 GB drive, state of the art color screen, ability to play stereo quality audio like iPod, I can go on and on... ;)
