NYT Article describes how Mr Trumps trade war policies are hurting the very people who voted for him. Peanut butter, whiskey and cars also hit..... interesting that if you import raw steel from Mexico to make nails it's TAXED... but if you import nails - they're NOT !! A-rummph ??
IMO_ 3 of Trumps biggest Fk-UPs were:
1. withdrawing from the TPP- put China in the drivers seat instead of us.
2. withdrawing from the multinational Iran Treaty -not perfect but best we could get and it DID halt their nuclear progress. Have nothing now and taints his agreements w N Korea.
3. Meeting with Kim Jung Un(believable)- got nothing in hard copy, all promises and maybes. Un made Trump look like a teenager in a used car salesroom ! Bought the only LEMON on the floor !
Harley is moving plants away to avoid EU tariffs on US hogs... GM announced today likely layoffs bc of the higher costs of steel and Al (element). Soybean farmers already being hurt by Chinese retaliations.
Oh boy... loves them tariffs !! ...sounds like Andy Jackson !!
“Soybean farmers already being hurt by Chinese retaliations.”—- Yup, and that will hurt the farmers in our state! But, and this is something I don’t understand.....those farmers continue to support Trump.
They FOOLISH-ly believe that in the end he'll get them a better deal = more $. When all this turns to Trade War sh-hit ... and they only see losses and not increased profits as promised... they'll finally realize they've been conned. It's gonna take a little more time. Same as with the fake- Tax Cuts.
