Last Thursday was my last face to face class for awhile. Friday was my last day as an FTE of Tyler Junior College (TJC). I have one onLine class in the fall TJC, and one, maybe one short face to face class at UT Tyler Pharm school next fall - 7 week class.
Rest of time is mine- doing some welding art, subbing at the LISD Jr high, maybe taking up kayaking, and whatever. We'll see.
Whatever happened to ‘full-time retirement’? (I don’t miss being out of the ‘rat race’ at all, and if folks ask me what I do with all that ‘free time’, my standard answer is ‘Whatever I feel like doing!’... )
Yes, ‘activity’ reduces stress, no doubt. Kayaking sounds like a lot of fun. Unfortunately, in my neighborhood, the closest river is the Mississippi in St Louis, and I’d probably get run over by a barge. But I signed up for a gym membership right away to keep the ‘bod’going. What I like most about my retirement is the absence of any rigid ‘work schedules’ in my life now. The only ‘schedules’ I face now is going from one (medical) appointment to another. Apparently I overlooked the sad fact that with ‘retirement’ came ‘aging’.....
