Cadet Bone Spurs now wants a parade like the one the French have on Bastille Day? The five-time draft dodger wants military parades like the ones in North Korea? Perhaps have the Marines march by his grandstand doing the ‘Stechschritt’ (goose step)? Is he nuts? If he wants to honor our men and women in the military, how about giving them a day off? I’ve been in parades, and I’ve seen quite a few. We considered parades a real pain in the a$$!
Military veteran and Democratic Senator Tammy Duckworth also fired back at Mr Trump, while lampooning his deferments from medical military service during the Vietnam War.
"We don't live in a dictatorship or a monarchy," she said.
"I swore an oath - in the military and in the Senate - to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, not to mindlessly cater to the whims of Cadet Bone Spurs and clap when he demands I clap."
n January 2018, following a federal government shut down after the Senate could not agree on a funding bill, Duckworth responded to President Trump's accusations that the Democrats were putting “unlawful immigrants” ahead of the military:
“I spent my entire adult life looking out for the well-being, the training, the equipping of the troops for whom I was responsible. Sadly, this is something that the current occupant of the Oval Office does not seem to care to do — and I will not be lectured about what our military needs by a five-deferment draft dodger. And I have a message for Cadet Bone Spurs: If you cared about our military, you'd stop baiting Kim Jong Un into a war that could put 85,000 American troops, and millions of innocent civilians, in danger."
“WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—The Pentagon has turned down Donald J. Trump’s request for a grand military parade in Washington, D.C., citing a sudden outbreak of bone spurs that would prevent men and women in uniform from participating.”
“A military parade is really a kind of ritual dance, something like a ballet, expressing a certain philosophy of life,” wrote the great British author George Orwell.”—- Maybe Cadet Bone Spurs would like to put on his ‘tutu’ and participate? I think Bernie Sanders came up with a good ‘zinger’ on Twitter. Bernie suggested that instead of ‘copying’ the French Bastille Day parade, Trump should copy the French health care system.
