I finally figured out how to add my Custom TONE
to my iPhone 5s and wanted to add it to Ted's phone
as well (it's the only one we can both hear)

But when I plugged his iPhone into my iTunes program
it refused all my attempts to make it Appear (no icon)
so I wasn't able to Backup his phone, or add the Tone.

I didn't want to "poke around" in his phone, so I
unplugged it and handed it back, promising to ask
someone more knowledgeable than myself, before
trying again, lest I delete something w/o a back up

Is there a Setting I'm missing somewhere that'll
give iTunes permission to connect a second iPhone?

Has the phone worked in iTunes before?

If so reboot the phone and try again, or to just get the ringtone to it for now, download this.

https://dl.devmate.com/com.softorino.Waltr/WALTR.dmg

Download, open the WALTR.dmg, drag Waltr to Applications.

Next locate the ringtone on your computer, it will be in home folder/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Tones

Quit iTunes.

Next launch Waltr, and follow the instructions in the video that will come up.

Nup..

Nuthing has worked in iTunes since the MacMini.

Everything worked slicker-than-snot using the G4
iTunes 5 and 2 iPhone 3's & 2 iPods

But on iTunes 12+ with the iPhone 5s it's become
a study in frustration to even locate & play music
or (God forbid) ADD & manage anything, even AudioBooks.

aw, ratz.. frown

I downloaded the app
and haven't opened it yet

but I see now that I'd changed
the NAME of Ted's iPhone 5 to MY
NAME in iTunes yesterday and Ted's
Hoppin'Pist @ me.

How do I preform Emergency Damage-Control?

I was able to change the name back on the iPhone
but I was never able to add his phone to iTunes
nor transfer the RING-TONE (or anything else)
