My wife gave me my Christmas present early: an iMac running El Capitan.

Now, how do I go about finding all the substitute apps to replace what I'm using now on windoze??

My major concerns are subs for MS Money, Audio Caller ID, Nero Wave Editor, and MS Publisher.

Leads?

Thanks

Congratulations!

I've never used the Apps you listed, but I'll open my mouth anyway…
FaceTime and Messages may be able to ID callers.
Pages may be able to replace Publisher.
Intuit Quickbooks to replace MS Money?

Thanks, all I can do is try, huh??

Now, I've been using MS Excel to track my blood sugar levels, and it does well, I just imported all my spreadsheets to my new iMac, but the formulas that worked in Excel don't work in Numbers. Is there someone who might help me with this?

Thanks

The new iWork Apps are extremely lacking. Apple changed them a couple years ago, and they have never been the same since. frown
I ended up purchasing Office for Mac.

What Curtis said, plus for Nero try Audacity.

Nothing will open Publisher files BTW. You can use the "Package for service provider" it's called something like that to export any Publisher files then try to open or recreate in Pages.

What version of Numbers do you have? If it's v 3.x.x I have one I emailed to you at carolina.rr email address that's in your Profile. If it's v 2.x.x I have that too.

Doing a google search I found these two also.

There is a Numbers spreadsheet app. The one for blood sugar is 99˘.

This one is free.

Congrats BTW. Welcome to 21st century computing. grin

Thanks. Now I gotta figure out the differences in the syntax between Excel and Numbers. I have a formula in my Excel blood level spreadsheet that produces an error when I try to use it in Numbers.

I'm trying to get as far away from Micro$oft as I can. That's why I got this new iMac.

Good on you! I have to collaborate with too many PC People, so it was easier to give in and get Office.

The freeway link is working fine here. Maybe try it later. Might just be an internet hiccup.

Or try a different browser. Are you using Safari or something else?

Try this then click on Freeway Express at the top.

You don't have the firewall on or anything do you? BTW if so and you're behind a router you don't need a firewall anyway.

If that doesn't work launch Safari in Safe mode, hold down the Shift key when you launch Safari to disable any extensions.

Do you have Little Snitch installed? If so uninstall it, it's paranoid garbage.

I got Komposer working, and it seems to be all I need. NOW, I still gotta find a replacement for Jasc Paint Shop Pro tor this Mac.

I was at the Apple Store Tuesday for nearly the whole day, and they were not able to find 1/3 of the stuff that's been found here by you guys. And all I get when I type in something is training materials. Maybe I just don't know how to hunt.

I had written something that I checked and it was incorrect.

I think you're putting a lil too much spin on it. I have never been able to figure out why the time limit to delete a post is what? 60 seconds?

Yo bro, j/k around.

We have no control over the time limit. I think unless you have the mystical magical super mod power you can never delete a post. If you want something deleted just ask.

Thanks, I appreciate the help, but I'm FAR from finding what I need. It's only now that I realize all of the Windoze stuff I really depended on, and how hard it is to replace (within my budget limits)

Besides that, I still need a NUMBERS guru to help me modify a formula from Excel to Numbers (it took an EXCEL guru to figure it out, so I'm totally lost when it comes to modifying it to another spreadsheet).

Anyway, I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.
