So with the demise of MobileMe what's the best way of building audio or video files into your Web site?

You can still use iWeb to create, you would just have to manually upload the website files to your web host.

You could also check into using WordPress.

Thanks... so I can use the MobileMe Widget and the files will play in the published site even though I can't verify that in advance by publishing to a file?

As long as I have the correct links where the files are hosted, iWeb audio and video still works for me.
I'm still using it with El Capitan. (Don't tell anybody).

Good point - not very much come to think it... it used to provide a gallery of one's uploaded media files.

If I use the link inspector the file plays in a separate window - is there a way of having it play on selection from the page itself - auto or controlled?

I just checked. I have all videos on YouTube, and use the widget in iWeb.
Videos play on the page. Not sure about audio.
Yeah, it looks like the hyperlink inspector only allows external links. Have you tried linking to the same page? Maybe use the HTML widget instead?

Thanks Acumowchek.

I just tried linking to the same page but unfortunately it appears not to work.

Looks like I might have to go with YouTube - is there YT commercial 'branding' going on with that or is the server anonymous?

By the way I've been meaning to ask whether there are any issues with iWeb and El Capitan? I've been wary about upgrading from 10.9.5 in case I lost iWeb in the process.
