Haven't been in the Mac world in a great while.
Yesterday I bought a iMac G5 for ten bucks at a thrift store. the LCD panel is busted ad I thought I would tackle the repair. Instead of buying a direct drop in replacement I decided to go the route of the Hackintosh guys but reverse. Toss in a TMDS compatible LCD panel and wire up a DVI connector to the old LCD panel's cable. This way I can connect any 17.1 inch DVI compatible monitor in the system. Or if I really wanted to I could build a custom case for the system. I do have a 32inch LCD TV, just use a DVI/HDMI adapter and get some acrylic sheets.... Nah, after all it's a G5 CPU and I would only run Linux on it.
