It seems that people are having problems with their 6+ bending from being in their pocket. This may be a big problem for Apple.

Perhaps. But all the brouhaha and media reports I've seen have been over a single thread over at MacRumors in which a total of seven (as of this morning) people reported a bending problem. That's a vanishingly trivial number. But if the number grows dramatically, then yes, it'll be a problem. But right now it seems more media frenzy than anything else ...

As for the actual bending problem, I have an iPhone 6 that I've been keeping in my front pocket and haven't had any bending issues so far -- although obviously that's just my experience and doesn't mean it didn't bend for others. Regardless, the only way I can see that the phone would bend *only as a result of being in the pocket* is if it was laying horizontally across someone's well-muscled thigh in a pocket of *very* tight trousers for a *very* long time. And even then I'd be doubtful.

The most referenced example I've seen is the guy who says he had his iPhone in the front pocket of his loose suit trousers for 18 hours as he went about his day and evening's entertainment. Unless he spent most of that time within close proximity to the Amazing Kreskin or something, I just don't see how the phone magically bends without being under pressure or some impact event. So I suspect there's probably a bit more going on here than simply a phone resting in a pants pocket.

If it does at this point it will be the result of media FUD and click-bait ...

Just like every time Apple updates the iPhone?
Remember when they said the camera produces a purple halo if you take a picture of the sun? crazy

More like when Apple does just about ... well ... anything. Or, even when it doesn't do something. Basically it comes down to Apple simply existing ;-)

aaaaaaaand so far a whopping nine people have reported bent phones to Apple. A major design flaw! Dogs and cats sleeping together!! Total mayhem!!!111

Now that Wall Street has made its money of Apple stock falling, maybe we can get past this foolishness ...

Anytime I hear about a problem with recently launched Apple products, I pretty much assume it only applies to complete jackasses, people who 'invent' problems for popularity, or clueless analysts!
