I have 3.1 G free on my phone and it says I don't have enough free space for a 920M install. It needs 4.6G WTH? That is to update straight through the phone.
The work around is to download only first in iTunes and then install which is what I always do anyway, but iTunes says it can't contact the server. I use iCloud backup, but I always back the phone up to the computer occasionally, and before updating, then download the updates, so in case anything goes wrong back grading and/or Restoring is so much faster, you don't have to re-download the update or all the apps etc. I never update straight through the phone.
All that cash they have. IMO everything should just work. For example the way they castrated Pages 5. They rebuilt it from the ground up I guess. I just ran across the fact they they took linking text boxes out of Pages 5 and a quick Google says that they did away with something like 90 features. It's been a year already and they still don't have linking. Also the fiasco with the recent Keynote event not playing correctly.
Anyway, back to your regular scheduled programming, sorry. I still miss Jobs.
I'm going to do 8 as soon as I can download it.
Edit - A half hour after launch I can d/l it, and it is coming in rapidly at least. I'm better now.
Took around 50 minutes to d/l and update on a 4S. I don't really notice any performance hit yet, but I haven't done much either. According to arstechnica FUD there is a huge slowdown on the 4S, apps take longer to launch, around .1 to 1 second.
