Just found this little gem.<br><br>BananaSoft has created a freeware application called FocusLayer, which allows you to dim everything but the active window. The amount of dimming is adjustable, and the application also comes with an optional menu extra. <br><br>This is perfect for when you have a lot of windows open and wish to concentrate on one particular window. As you can see by the sample below, I have 2 windows open in Safari, plus a few finder windows, but the only one that is "focused" is the Safari Window that is active.<br><br><br><br><br>Click here to visit me.

Cool. It looks like they took advantage of Quartz Extreme by sticking a semi transparent window behind the active one.<br><br>

i just tried it...i think it takes some getting used to. makes me a bit nervous and i stopped. perhaps i switch too often or grab things from the desktop or just like to be nervous. <br><br>it's a cool idea. i imagine it would be really nice for people working for a long time on a document or a website, etc. helps centralize your focus.<br><br>[color:blue] -sean</font color=blue>
