Whoa! A whole new suite of CC apps — all with the prefix 2014. Some welcome changes and huge speed increases. The updater installs the 2014 versions and leaves the previous CC versions in place (I deleted the old once I made sure I migrated all necessary presets, plugins, actions, and PPDs).
Favorite features so far: InDesign's "Package for Output" now includes a down saved IDML file and a PDF with the preset of your choosing... all with one click! And the ability to group color swatches into folders in the color panel. FINALLY!
All is not great though. My two favorite extensions for Photoshop don't work, and Suitcase Fusion hasn't been updated yet.

From the Extensis site:
Quote:
Extensis Font Manager Compatibility We are currently putting the final touches on Adobe CC 2014 compatible plug-ins and panels for the current versions of Extensis font managers, Suitcase Fusion 5 and Universal Type Server 4. Expect free updates for these versions in the coming weeks.

So far, the only thing that appears to have been broken is the Color Logic plugin and preset for Photoshop, and I emailed CL's support team a/b it. But no probs with Ai and ID.
Coolorus is awaiting update as well. I haven't used it, but it looks very interesting to me. I hate Apple & Adobe's color picker, so I'm willing to try anything. I already use Skala Color, but I wouldn't mind trying something else.

The thing you have to keep in mind with Color-Logic is that it's a system of special inks that go with the swatches, and you have to be working with a Color-Logic printer shop. Their site has a list/map of authorized printers around the country.
Hey guys. My print shop isn't on that list... but I have my studio right in the middle of a 95,000 sq ft printing facility that is family owned and been around for over 40 years. We have a KBA, Heidelberg and a Komori press. Also a nice big Xerox digital and some smaller digital printers. If you ever need a quote on something I sell printing too. Mail house, spiral binding and so on.
Unfortunately they don't have a whiz bang website, which we have been after them for about 4 years now to update... but w/e.
