Yup. One must be tragically hip with flaming hair these days. Right after I had moved back to Boston from NYC (late '05), a recruiter sent me to interview for an ACD position at TJ Maxx's internal ad agency. The reciter told them that I had lots retail and apparel experience. Plus I grew up in the garment industry and was married, at the time, to a fashion accessories designer. 'Nuther words, I had the chops. So I'm waiting in the lobby waiting for my interview, and this 20-something kid w/a half pound of shiny doodads sticking out of his ears, nose, and lips walks down the stairs, looks around the lobby, and calls my name. I'm the only one there, and there's a portfolio leaning against my chair. Hullooooo The moment he realized the candidate was mid-50's, he asked me a couple of totally meaningless questions pulled from his ass, thanked me for coming and ran back upstairs. I can just imagine his reaction if it were today!
BTW, if you haven't tried Safari for 15 years you might want to give it another chance. It may have changed.
It is my 99% of the time browser and has been for years. What is it you do not like?
Now I gotta spend the next couple of days of transfering all of my SC smilies over to tinypic.com.
I tried Safari a few days ago & I still do not like it. The blue takes a looooooong time to load up in the url bar. Been doing that since it first came out on all of my computers. Safari kept studdering, I had to always delete caches (found an app that does that for you). I got tired of baby sitting Safari. As the years pass, I will try a new upgrade or two. The blue is still molasses as well as the other stuff I previously mentioned. Also, I like my browsers to have a lot of bells & whistles which Safari does not have. Netscape & iCab use to be my browsers back in da day. When Firefox came out, I jumped right on it. One of the things I like about FF is that it does not need any TLC. It JUST WORKS!
I used to use iCab eons ago when I was using a Blue & White G3 Krikey.. iCab even worked flawlessly when I had to fall back to using my antique Quadra 700
Have you tried PhotoBucket? You can BatchLoad entire folders from your HardDrive into PhotoBucket or directly from any webpage into custom folders of your choice in under two seconds! Hey.. works for me and my 1001 smilies & images.
I think she means the blue that shows up in the URL box when a page is loading. Can't say that I've had the problem she's talking about. I use Firefox from time to time, and the only difference is that it doesn't show the loading in the same way.
