Sideways and overwards. This will be home starting in a few weeks.
This whole thing began almost a year ago when I was kidding around with one of the owners at their grand opening BBQ party for the new plant they had just built. As they expanded/added services they kept the conversation moving forward and left the kidding behind.
I'll be directing creative services for clients that I bring in and for any new clients that come across the transom without any ad agency engagement. But because a lot of their customers are in fact area ad shops, we've got to avoid the appearance of competing with them. So for now, my primary focus will be on internal and external marketing initiatives. The owners did say, though, that if conditions are right at some future date, they'd like to spin off an agency.
One thing that's gonna be a lot of fun is taking over the publication of The Noodle., which is a very cool magazine that put out for their customers and prospects.
