I just had lunch with a good friend and his daughter. His daughter is a certified massage therapist in my state. A wonderful gal. Today she was talking about her learning about Reiki, a system of channeling ones natural energies to combat whatever in the body. Of course, my sceptic red flags were raised
Count me as a fellow skeptic, MrB, but . . . If it brings some relief? Why not?
Whatever sets our minds, bodies and hearts at ease varies huge. You'd have to put a gun to my head to make me take "meds" unless I've got a broken arm. Ask me how I feel after a seriously good massage? [Don't ask how long it's been. I know. Our Jamaica vaca years ago. Sigh.] Yeah, I'd line up a couple of those every week if I could afford it.
One man's placebo = another man's heaven.
Real cures are hard to come by. Comfort is something we all deserve.
