World's Tallest Building to be built in Saudi Arabia
> 3200 feet tall - Is this the modern "Tower of Babel" ?
Can you imagine if this collapses or falls over ?? ouch !! . . . it'd make 9-11 look like tinker toys !!
FYI USA has #4 of the tallest and that's the only 1 in the top 10... well except Donald Trump's head !! (lucky that guy can breathe ! ) Talk of Tower of Babel !!
China has 4 of the top 10 (#2, #6, #7, & #10) .... not that that's anything to crow about ! What's the deal with height? can't be most efficient office space ... building costs, pumping water up 1000's of feet !! AND what if you have a fire !! 1000s trapped.... unless you equip them with parachutes or parasails !!
I can see someone flipping over their desk chair cushion and it says- "In case of emergency, this cushion may serve as a flotation device." OOPS !! wrong floatation !!

Then I would ask if there will be beverage service and packages of peanuts on the elevators. And at the ground-breaking ceremony, Ann-Margret will sing Bye Bye Birjee!

Yeah I'm going to ask my brother about that- he services elevators… got to be a huge challenge. Got to be tough to get those motors up to the service level on top !! …and the danger of cables that long !!! I sure wouldn't want to work on them.. 'course he does have a 40+ story building on his watch.
Told me several months ago, another company in Dallas lost a man… didn't put on his safety belt… you can imagine the rest. It's NOT pretty !
As far as I recall in the extra extra tall sky scrapers in NYC they handle that very real concern by having passengers CHANGE ELEVATORS To Get to the Upper Levels. (I think there are "Locals" & "Express" like waiting for a bus or subway)
Only been that high working for Ziff-Davis on Park Ave. didn't think twice @ the time.
Funny.. like most NuYawkas, I've never been up in the Empire State Building, even though I'd walked directly passed it dozens of times, nor up into the WTC, even though I'd been in and under it hundreds of times... just never had any call to do so.
Yes true, but even with that you need more motors to get to the top… i.e.. instead of 1 motor pulling a car (elevator) 150 floors, you have 3 motors, pulling 3 cars (1 @) 50 floors… see how it gets very complicated quickly ??
maintenance costs increase dramatically now you have 3 cars and 3 motors instead of 1.
One car would not only be dangerous but would cause the WAIT TIME longer between car-loads of workers trying to get to their offices every morning.
With a building that tall... Allah knows how many workers that would involve. therefore 3X how many lifts? complicated indeed. the maintenance crew would be busier than a one-armed poster-hanger in a hurricane!
