Yesterday Ed Schultz did a report on a group of Native Americans who are attempting to halt the Keystone XL Pipeline, and I was reminded that for these people, the Earth — the land, the air, the water, the wildlife — are all integral elements of their religion. So I'm thinking that if Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood were to prevail in their case before the SCOTUS, then dammit, Native Americans should bring the same case. They should claim that the allowing the KXLP to be built is violates their religious freedom.

I'm just sayin'...

Sigh.

There's no end to this this rabbit hole.

Please accept my apologies for almost derailing your intentions, sir.

Close call. See ya at the next Stop Sign? :-)

Their hypocrisy is deeper than their investments. The insurance plan they offered employees before the ACA covered contraception. I hope the SCOTUS shows them the door by June. But if they give them and Conestoga a pass, I think the Sioux and Lakota and all the other tribes in the region should absolutely make the same premise a central pillar of their opposition to KXL. I'd love to see the grimaces on the faces of the right wing justices when they realize just what kind of precedent they'd have set.

I was discussing the prevalence of casinos in our state as there are several. Kansas has a no smoking policy in public venues. All this for health reasons of course. But in our discussion, I found out that smoking is permitted in casinos in our state. I gues when it comes to making money, health issues can be put aside. So this seems to apply to the Hobby Lobby suit as well. ,

Shame

Well, from what I see, the state realizes the benefit of having a smoking ban on public buildings. Except where it might affect bringing in the cash. Hobby Lobby the same. They want to have their so called religious freedom except still want the money fro investments to the same
