Objections to the new versions are numerous. Have a look at the support forums and app store reviews.
My biggest complaints (so far):
• If you upgrade Pages on one of your machines it will convert whatever document you open with that new version to the updated format. That updated document can't be opened by any other version of pages you might have on your other machine(s) if you have 'em-- thereby forcing you to "upgrade" across the board.
• It won't open .doc files. Only .docx files. Why?
• And for me, this is a killer: Alignment guides for images has disappeared. Preferences/Rulers/Alignment guides has been checked, but they don't show up when I'm trying to align an image in a doucment to another.
This feature is an absolute need for me, and it's disappeared since upgradeing to 5.2
I can't believe that the company i love so much could release something so bad as this...
