I'd prefer an old fashion Deli over most chain shops! Pastrami! Mmmmmmmm!
We have a decent sandwich shop in Lindale, but very pricey! Pastrami was good but not the best I ever had. I think the best are in NY and NE. Lubbock had a place called Pete's Drive In and they had an awesome Pastrami. About a lb of meat on it. Carnivore delight!

Around here, they think a deli is a city in India. Everybody knows from corn hole. But Corned beef, not so much. And a real bagel? Fuhgettaboutit. I gave up on that years ago.

Well, I don't like to condemn a whole franchise from one experience, but… Lazy, hipster employees? Check. Bad attitude? Check. 20 minutes for two "Sandwiches"? Check. (We were the only ones in there). They were basically lettuce on toasted rolls.
I agree with you, Dave. If I'm going to buy a sandwich, give me a real deli any day.
