Yep, there are many beneficial THCs in it. For example, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, bronchodilator, vasodilator, and of course the one that gives you a buzz.
When smoked or ingested one gets all of them, smoking burns many up though as compared to ingesting. The different THCs can be separated out, so for example it can take swelling down without stoning you.

In the 1970s-80s, I smoked and ate a lot of it. I guess that explains my tilted look at the way things are. I also tried cocaine and acid and mushrooms a few times and I've consumed my share of alcohol. Would I enjoy a good pot buzz now? You bet, but it just made me sleep the last couple of times I did any. Just not the fun it used to be (nor as affordable). These days it's very good craft beers/ales and, very rarely, a very good single malt scotch.
