I must be the odd man out. Not to rain on the parade, but I just don't see what all the excitment is about. The price per song is almost equal to a retail music CD. It's the same quality MP3 you can find anywhere else online. iTunes is the same except that it now links to the music store. Verson 3 has the Smart Playlist.

I'm not trying to trash this new feature. I'm just trying understand why all the hoopla. Can you fill me in? Should I be buying myself an iPod or something?

Thanks all.

You obviously don't buy too many CD's if you think you can buy a just-released $9.99 CD with 10 songs on it (by a popular artist) in any store!

Bargain bins don't count, either!

[color:red]Hold on, it's time for a
Besides being only ten bucks a CD this is made for me. There is hardly ever a time when I buy a CD which I think more than two tunes are kick ass. So now that CD is only 2 bucks and I don't have to listen to the filler.
So my price went from 14 bucks to 2 bucks. That is OK by me and I guess a few others. AAPL up 0.51.

So, does the AAC sound better when played through the computer as well?

I get the feeling I'll be re-encoding all my songs if that's the case.

But then again, they won't play on my jukebox that way... Damn, I don't have money for an iPod right now!!!

[color:red]Hold on, it's time for a
