.

Still, yet, again,

When I choose Quit in the menu at top of mail, the "Quit Mail" at the bottom of that menu column grays out but Mail app does not quit. After a long wait, I have to Force Quit. Force Quit does not say "Mail not responding" or nothing irregular.

Zzzzzzzzzz

By the way, you can teach an old dog new tricks. I just learnt something else.

• The total number of messages you can send each day (200 messages)
• The number of recipients to whom you can send each day (1000 recipients)
• The maximum number of recipients per message (100 recipients)
• The size of incoming and outgoing messages (20 MB)

It takes very little to make old folks happy wink

Mail works fine for me. Not sure what to tell you, other than reinstall Mavericks?

As for the total number of messages, where did you see that?

Quit Mail. Go to Macintosh HD/Users/you/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Preferences

If your Library folder in your users folder isn't visible do this.

Control-click on the com.apple.mail.plist file in that Preferences folder and choose Compress, then delete the original com.apple.mail.plist. Also delete any file with com.apple.mail.plist.'some characters', no need to compress that one. We compressed the com.apple.mail.plist in case this doesn't work (yeah right) and you want to restore the original.

You will have to reset some viewing preferences but you won't lose any mail, I promise. smile

Just as an FYI, that is a limitation of your internet provider to stop spammers, not the Mac.

Well, sunufagun. Just quit mail and it is hanging around. Well, the menu is hanging with grayed out "quit."

Almost a week and I thought it was fixed.
