Yeah I can't exactly remember but there are about 400,000 species of insects. DANG! Wiki says 1.4 Million... must have been thinking beetles !
90% of all living forms ! WOW ! almost as ubiquitous as bacteria. the prokaryotes have a few spots even insects can't go ! (like thermal vents at the bottom of the oceans.)
At TTU, the Prof in charge of the Electron microscope suite had a SEM of an ant that was about 6' long and 4' tall... made of hundreds of different 8'X10" photos !! Awesome... you could gaze for hours at the detail !! LOL, just thought of this, we shoulda called it "Antie EM "!!
