Seriously. Not a political point, but a simple matter of giving people their due. China has done something that's really terrific. Celebrate it, for goodness sake.
That's not to say that competition between nations in the "space race" is a good thing. So much duplication of effort is just a waste of time, money, and energy. But so be it. Yeah, we're great. But so are the Russians, so are the Chinese. The Indians are getting into the action. Even Iran is putting up monkeys--a lot of that, again, seems to me a waste of effort. But all of it is a great accomplishment.
