AHA! That proves I'm much younger than you think! grin

I'm pretty sure I'm past the 14-day window, so my account should have been totally deleted by now. Twitter, too. And I don't miss either one at all. I'm even considering dropping Google. I never use Google + or gmail, and I'm beginning to believe that for the scope and purpose of my business website, Google Analytics does nothing for me.

I don't have or require an online business model, nor does my site have the kind of interactivity that would deliver any meaningful intel through the analytics. Other than seeing when I get a couple of hits from, say, Bangalore (which is a heads-up for imminent SPAM), it's just a block of extra code. Meh...

Ok, so I take back what I said at the top of this post. I'm clearly old enough to kick them dang kids off my lawn! laugh

I enjoy Facebook daily. Twitter I could probably do without, but I do enjoy checking it several times per week (lots of great links in my feed). Gmail and Google+ I could definitely do without - and mostly do.

Overall though, social media has turned into a second job. It's work. It used to be light, fun, and strictly "when I'm in the mood." Now you have people shaming you if you don't post enough or enough of what they want anyway. That on top of any self-inflicted "duty" you may feel to constantly update the world on what's going on in your life.

I still advise some of my clients to maintain a SM marketing component, and I work with a SM specialist fairly often for those clients. But I've decided not to practice what I preach because it really doesn't do anything measurable for my business, and personally, I still prefer old-school social and contact methods. And one of theses days I'm gonna fix that broken crank handle on my phone. laugh

Does it come with an optional ratchet so you can use it as a New Years Eve noisemaker?

Actually, for a quick on-the-go-charge, you can just rub the phone on your head a few times. There static charge will give you a/b 3 minutes of talk time — plus it holds the phone to your dashboard! Honest. Try it. whistle
