Man, I thought when Marv said 12000 he just accidentally added an extra zero, but he was just ahead of the curve on the numbers - it could very well reach that number of dead. My prayers go out to all the people affected.

Thanks for checking in Marv. Hope you & yours stay safe. Surprised you have power. The way the US news is spinning this, all of the Philippines is devastated, no power, no water, no food, etc. The only group attempting to bring in supplies is the UN like there is only 1 airport in all of the Philippines still in operation.
Perhaps you can advise us of what is really going on?
Why the reports seem so conflicting is because some of the islands were hit harder than others & so far they're finding it extremely difficult to assess the full magnitude of the situation since the roads are either blocked ...or gone.

What is really happening is that Tacloban and some parts of Leyte like Ormoc which really hit badly by this typhoon. The rest of this country is okay including where I live in Cebu City.We have power and supplies and water also. Also Samar which badly damaged also. All this is in the Visayas in the Northern part of the country.Unfortunately the country was not prepared for this tremendous typhoon at all. That is the tragic part of all of this now.
