Just listened to it for the First Time myself!

LOL
Now I GET what my grandfather was talking about! laugh

From Jersey City you can see The Pulaski Skyway that
the Martian Tripods were said to be straddling...
...same with the Holland Tunnel... that runs
between Jersey City & Downtown New York City @
Canal St. ("Chinatown")

Pop was right...
"If there were Martians as described in the radio
enactment --- my mom et al should have been able
to simply look up and SEE Them! Obviously there
Were NOT!" thanx for prompting me to search for
the archive... it just filled in another piece
of the "FOREST GUMP" puzzle in which I live. crazy

Raymond Blvd in Newark leads up to the Art School
I attended during the early 70's as described,
from Paulette's house, the Machine could have
"almost brushed the house as they walked passed"

BTW.. in the Speilberg/Cruise 2005 movie version,
you can see the raised pylons of the Pulaski
Skyway towering over Cruise's house while he
was playing catch with his teen-aged son...

Interesting that Speilberg held so close to the
locations...

anyway... ENJOY! laugh

...I know I did. smile

I listened to about half of it. Quite interesting. I suppose we are more skeptical these days, but though it was interesting with the historical element, it wasn't particularly convincing. Which would seem to back up the assertations that it was a broohaha stoked by the newspapers.

I think all of the characters I heard were played by 3 people, one of them being Welles.

The PBS Documentary fills in more of the back ground..
..about the series of recent discoveries and events that
had Mars in the News (& on people's mind) that pretty
much "primed the pump" for how the events unfolded.
