Marv? Hope everything's okay. It was every bit the doozy they said it was going to be.

I suspect Marv will be without power for quite some time.

I was in this typhoon as I live in Cebu City. It was horrendous and the wind was really startling to hear.Thankfully no one was injured where I live only some small trees fell over and we had a brownout for over 12 hours.Other places were really destroyed a lot and some people died also.

Good thing you and yours are well. I'm surprised you have power at all!

Good to know you weathered the storm well. Apparently it was expected to be even worse (they said the same for the smaller one that hit Japan a couple Wednesdays back). Glad to know it wasn't.

THANK GOODNESS!
Thanx for Checking In. smile

To tell the truth,
I had no idea how many such events
take place every year where you live!

Between that and
living on the Rim of "The Ring of Fire"
must keep life pretty "INTERESTING"
...in the Chinese-Curse sort of way... eek

.
'Massive destruction'
as typhoon kills at least 1,200 in Philippines

Witnesses said bodies covered in plastic were lying
on the streets. Television footage shows cars piled
atop each other.

"The last time I saw something of this scale was in
the aftermath of the Indian Ocean Tsunami," said
Sebastian Rhodes Stampa, head of the U.N. Disaster
Assessment Coordination Team sent to Tacloban,
...referring to The 2004 Earthquake and Tsunami.

"This is destruction on a massive scale. There are
cars thrown like tumbleweed and the streets are
strewn with debris."

So far over 12,000 are dead and they are still counting the missing in Leyte.
