At least with all our (USA) problems, most Americans treat women with dignity... the exceptions I won't mention, for fear the thread will get relocated to "Political Soapbox" !!
But we don't force marriages, and we don't have young girls as sex slaves. (I'm sure there are a few rare exceptions - I'm speaking in general terms!) No matter how bad some of our political neanderthals are, there are many around the world FAR, FAR worse !
It seems that each year 14 million young girls are forced into becoming child brides. Wow, I had no idea.
Every year, approximately 14 million girls are married before they turn 18, across countries, cultures and religions. Robbed of their childhood, denied their rights to health, education and security.
'Child Brides' are merely the Tip of the Iceberg of atrocities against women worldwide that no one talks about....either because they don't care......or because it makes most people too uncomfortable to even think about...
We all know women's rights are trampled on worldwide, we talk about it here, but the 14 mill a year underage brides was staggering was my point. We seem to have gone a bit off topic the last two or three posts, especially the last one. I really don't see what miniature-earth has to do with it.
