"GO GET'UM, BILL!!!"
_________ grin

Bill Pascrell was my BF's Civics/History
Teacher back in the 1970's in Paramus, NJ.

He's ALWAYS fought for the "Little Guy"

He's also one of the legislators being
REDISTRICTED into a county where people
won't know him & will be far less likely to
Vote For Him come Election Time.

SUX!
But them's the NEW RULES we're about to
be laboring under. Sure Hope People Are
PAYING ATTENTION TO WHAT'S GOING ON! whistle

Here's what I wrote a Libertarian friend who's already starting to whine !!

"Health insurance is like car insurance.. and we've ALL had BAD experiences with that - so who's fault is it ? The client, the Insurance Company, or the State that requires it ?? So should it be required ? Should there be minimum coverage like the 100 / 300 / 100 most states require? AND what happens to those that drive and DO NOT CARRY insurance (OMG, there's a mandate !) ?

Health insurance isn't much different, Jerry ! ONE BIG Difference IS, you can live without a car, BUT you can't without your health !!
"

I'm SICK of all the childish whining !! mad "Man" up, dammit !!
Like chicken little- "the sky is falling...the sky is falling !!"
They said the SAME thing with SS, and the SAME thing with Medicare.... STOP and THINK PEOPLE !!! . . .how'd those work out ?? crazy

BTW - RIP AZZ, Bill.... all the way up to and including the testicles !! wink

INDEED!
You can get el CHEAP-0 Auto Insurance
just to Get You On the Road... but what
happens when you get into an accident
with a $50,000 car and you're only
covered for $10,000...oopsey! YOU PAY!
(GOD FORBID It involves Personal Injury
((...OR WORSE...)) eek )

of course the real difference is that
You can live without your car...
...The REST Of US Don't G.a.S...! grin

But if your cheap-arse lands in the E.R.
The REST of US FOOT YOUR BILL!!! mad
THAT'S when we DO Very Much G.a.S. mad mad mad

Well it came out in the Congressional Hearing today, many of the cancelled policies were:
1. Done by the Insurance companies.

2. Were on "junk insurance" (poor or little coverage) policies.

AND THAT:
3. The policy owners do NOT have to accept a roll over policy from the insurance company (like many were told by the insurers sick) and can go shopping just like you do for CAR insurance !!

4. ONLY policies active before the bill was signed AND have not been terminated will be "grandfathered"...so if you got a new policy AFTER the Law went into effect it has to meet the ACA minimum standards (consumer protection).
DUH !! mad Most of this BS is either smoke & mirrors or alarmist rhetoric by the GOTP !! mad

NOW maybe BO should have made #4 more clear... but many shop around for health insurance each year... so any new policy has to meet the ACA minimum guides.

As time goes on, I think it'll get even cheaper for all... 25% of companies in the ACA insurance pools are NEW companies !

The GOTP Scare Mongers are Already at work
Scaring folks about having their Personal Info
& Health Records in An Accessible Data Base
That Any Care Giver or Insurance Company can
tap into a computer "The Better to TREAT You
With, My Dear!"
(** insert Big-Bad-Wolf.gif)

Talk about Saving Money & Improving HealthCare
not to mention improving the outcome by accessing
your records in a timely manner in the event of
an EMERGENCY!!!

It makes me NUTZ that every time I see a new
doctor spread out all over New Jersey, he has
To Start Out by Running the SAME DAMN BATTERY
Of TESTS Every Other Doctor Before Him Has
ALREADY CHARGED MY INSURANCE FOR DOING!

Or Making an APPOINTMENT just to HAND-DELIVER
Little Hand-Written-Notes between doctors...
then wait in the Waiting Room for the Little
Hand-Written Reply! **rinse & repeat**

Or being brought in to the ER after having
had a car accident... then having to wait
for them to contact the Lab to have them send
up someone to draw blood to check if I have
Type II Diabetes.

It would sure Save A LOT of Muss-Fuss & Bother
(not to mention TIME & MONEY) to access all
my records, Primary Care Physician, Existing
Conditions, Up-To-Date LIST of MEDICATIONS etc

OR DOES THAT MAKE TOO DAMN MUCH SENSE? mad
