I have a good friend at the CDC that works in IT.

I got some info about the current healthcare.gov cyber mess.

It appears that when he came on board CDC the head of ITSO at CDC was a man named Loontz (spelling might be incorrect). He was ITSO director for many years, and left to take a head job at HHS as their IT director... He was there for about 7 years before leaving and taking an executive position with CGI-Federal. CGI-Federal was under the umbrella of CGI-International which had been contracted to set up the Canadian healthcare computer system. CGI-International did a poor job and was fired. CGI-Federal somehow got a no-bid award to set up our healthcare.gov. I'm sure Loontz had something to do with it since he had numerous contacts at his old job at HHS. Maybe they thought he'd manage differently. BUT it does make one shake their heads and wonder if CGI-International loused up the Canadian rollout, WTF was CGI-Federal hired to do ours ?? NOT saying it's BO's fault - contract awarding is done at the AGENCY level, but something doesn't smell right !! sick

Rachel Maddow had an interesting take on it:

GOP accidentally helps improve Obamacare

Isn't she one of the smartest ladies around !!

How about the 2016 Democratic ticket- Clinton/ Maddow wink
But she's probably too smart to get into politics !
But wouldn't that be a hoot... the GOTP would dirty their pants every time their names were mentioned !! Worth it in MY book !!! laugh

I have a hard and fast rule for contractors: If I get even the slightest negative intel on a vendor I'm considering sending an RFP for a client's project, they're off the list immediately. Or if I've worked with them in the past, their performance has everything to to with their being considered a second time. Even the tiniest screw-up or mis-step is a deal-breaker because If I hire them as a subcontractor and they don't deliver, it's my responsibility as far as my client is concerned. They don't want excuses or blame. They want a successful outcome. Period.

But then, I'm not the Federal Gov't. grin

I forget who pointed it out but...

"...it seems pretty disingenuous to vote to block
something over forty times...then feign outrage
when it doesn't meet expectations."

FUNNY: Back in the "Air America" Radio Daze...
Rachel Maddow started every broadcast with the
UNMISTAKABLE Hoarse voice of Rush yelling,
"WHO THE HELL IS RACHEL MADDOW?" laugh

LOL I dare say he's long-since found out...!

Anyway...
Naw, Rush needs to stay out of politics...
...and so should Rachel...

But Clinton/Warren is a ticket I can stand behind.

although I suppose they'll never consider it since
Elizabeth Warren don't got the chops ...yet...

Whatever they do
they'd better get "on-it"
in time to beat **Gov. wink wink Chris Christie

The bastid's doing EXACTLY what I predicted 2 years ago! mad

I realized when all the programs came to a screeching halt
and not a pot-hole got filled in 3 YEARS...
that the S.O.B. would run on his RECORD of
"Balancing the Budget, & Never Raising Taxes"

knowing full well that people who'd never realize
The TRUE COST Of Austerity would think, "It's A GOOD Thing!"

**and anyone not seeing how running for a 2nd term as Governor
isn't a calculated short step to The Presidency needs to open their
eyes and Google 'how many Governors have become PotUS'?
