There's this series on the History channel on Evolve. How we attained certain parts of our bodies like jaws and our guts. The one on guts/digestion tract suggested that our discovering fire made food tastier and easier to digest that we started to evolve smaller guts then our cousins the apes which still eat raw food.

So since I have a smaller gut due to the surgery a few years back, I maybe might do better to not eat my steak rare. I might digest it better if it were cooked more. Been thinking on that. Course, I don't eat steak much.

I do like my steak rare tho,

Dave

Mist the series. frown darn

but I seem to recall that part of the gut reduction
was due to eating difficult to digest LEAVES,
that required huge quantities of bacteria (and a
lot of time) to break down before being absorbed
and made available to the body as nutrients.

I prefer most foods very well done. I wanna make
sure them suckers are DEAD before tying into them.

I totally agree, Pirate, but lately? I'm seeing beyond bizarro combos that try to force bacon into an unnatural relationship with chocolate and even ice cream.

I'm as guilty as the next bacon lover ~ I'll fry it up and share some munches straight outta the pan with my very grateful dogs. But as a dessert? That's just NewFoodieWannaBees BS.

Perfect Potato Salad Always = Whatever You LIke + Fresh Fried Chopped Bacon.

This is as true as my eyes are brown.
