My boss phoned me today. He said, "Is everything okay at the office?" I said, "Yes, it's all under control. It's been a very busy day, I haven't stopped." "Can you do me a favor?" he asked. I said, "Of course, what is it?" "Pick up the pace a little. I'm in the foursome behind you."

...or what I suspect was a set-up on the show "Pickers"
when Frank the guy w/the beard was supposed to fill-in by staying back in the office while the Mike and the tattooed babe, Danielle (who usually did the office end of the deals) went out on the road for an episode.
They call Frank and he claims to be busy at the office, but on a hunch, drive to a Cassino, and use a cellphone to call Frank again.. who claims to be "Busier than a one armed paper-hanger in a stiff breeze" meanwhile... ...we see Mike & Danielle standing a few feet behind him, as he's sitting in the Cassino... placing bets.
It was cute, and fun, as I said..I'm fairly certain it was an elaborate put-on just for a change of pace.
