Between it being a "Special Election"... (to replace Sen. Frank Lautenberg R.I.P.) ...which is to say an OFF-YEAR Election held on an odd day (Weds. instead of Thurs.) with hardly any hoopla other than the sample ballot that had come in the mail last week..
Booker had gone missing just before the election (turns out that his Father had died last week!)
And on top of everything else going on in Wash. THE TP BIRTHER CLOWNS Had Started Releasing RID-I-COU-LOUS BULL TWADDLE Across the Media!
Corey Booker won the senate seat in N.J. I am glad he sure deserved this.He is for the people in his state all the way.
Going on 3 years ago I was In UMDNJ Hospital in Newark during a HUGE Nor'Easter that dumped 2 feet of Snow overnight, virtually crippling 3/4s of New Jersey.
It was very memorable... as the entire hospital staff consisted solely of the over-nite skeleton crew who'd been trapped in the Hospital with us .. for TWO DAYS! (NO FOOD OR LINEN DELIVERIES, NO Fresh Produce and NO HOT MEALS) ((having a banana At Every Meal was essential to my diet as a Rx because I required a steady diet of potassium, but couldn't tolerate it orally or by injection)) ooooooooo... ickie... ... hundreds of very sick peeps wallowing in dirty sheets and hospital gowns... being served Cold Cereal (sans Bananas =p ) and Tuna Fish Sandwiches.
Why do I bring this up?
Well, we had NOTHING (not even therapy) to do for 2 days but to Stare At the TV watching images of MAYOR BOOKER Literally Shoveling Snow for his elderly neighbors... ...while NJ Governor Chris Cristie (and family) were living-it-up @ Disney World, FLORIDA... ...uncomfortably reminiscent of the images of GDUBYA during "Katrina"
...anyway... it was a Herculean feat to clear that much snow from a densely populated inner-city like Newark... but once the Emergency Vehicles got dug out everything eventually came back on line (much to the "RELIEF" of of the over-worked hospital staff...)
...but like I said... Not Something I'll Soon Forget.

Yes I do. I think she has the experience, the intellect, and she's the one to carry much of Obama's progressive initiatives forward. Cory Booker rocked the democratic convention and showed then he deserves to be in the forefront of the democratic party. As a frequent guest on the Sunday political shows he's shown himself to be a calm yet forceful advocate of democratic policies.
If Obama gets a solid democratic majority in Congress for his final two years, he'll get lots of stuff done. Pelosi and Reid proved that the first two years where the majority was slim at best. Hillary could continue that momentum in a way that no other democratic candidate has yet shown because there would be no learning curve for her … she's already an insider and her administration would coalesce quickly and seamlessly with Obama's. Unlike the transition from the GWB to Obama administration, there would be no sabotage by the likes of Cheney and his minions … there would be no catastrophic economy or the dual wars left on her desk to deal with.
Hey, Al Frankin ain't running, so I'll support Hillary as soon as she announces her bid for the White House. I think she learned from '08 and will run a much smarter campaign, and most likely she will inherit Obama's campaign team, their playbook their national network of campaign offices … and his emailing list.
