I was invited to join a group for those who grew up in Dodge City. Though I didn't grow up there, I taught there some 30 some years. From that several of my former students found me. Since then we've had some great chats. Also discovered how successful they've become. Makes an old teachers heart proud.

Yo Stranger! Yeah, for some, it's better'n sliced bread. Not for me. I can take it or leave it. As a marketing tool, same thing. It works for some, not for others — and I can only shake my head at those who still think social media is a complete replacement for traditional advertising media (a close colleague and social media specialist shares that POV).
Of course for me, the final straw is that FB has not gotten me chicks!
I can go to Sites and blogs like Daily Kos, Think Progress, and others independently. And if I need my cute kitten fix, I can go to wimp.com.
So I've pretty much decided to unplug. In fact, since it's been dormant for months and months, I'm gonna kill my Twitter account, too.
I'll post a farewell on FB at some point today and invite friends to message me w/their contact info if they want to stay in touch, and then do the kill shot Sunday evening.

Amazing. Love the kill shot ref, but I'm fascinated by why you're pulling the plug. I'm still writing for folks who . . . if they had your talent? They wouldn't need me or at least they'd pay me a hell of a lot better.
OK, last gasp here? You're talking personal, not business?
BTW, when was the last time I told you how much I miss your sweet ass and don't care who hears me say so?

When I delete my personal page, the business page will go with it. Which is no loss. I get more response on LinkedIn, and I'll probably re-skin and revive Creative Juice, which I've ignored for more than a year. Plus, I've been asked by AAF/Dayton to create the marketing campaign for the 2014 Hermes/Addy Awards, so that'll be good for some extra regional visibility.
As far as my sweet ass is concerned, well, you have my sweet phone number!
