With Facebook? I am giving a lot of thought to deleting my account because of their latest finger in the privacy eye.

I don't post anything of a private nature. I'm not worried a/b being stalked or cyber-bullied. And I don't worry about being phished. But when I created my account a few years ago, I signed a privacy agreement that FB is now reneging on — purely for profit. And that just pisses me off.

I'll decide by Sunday, but I'm curious if anyone else has a POV on the latest policy.

Oh yeah. I'm not happy one bit. It was fun while it lasted, but I don't need to willingly go against my ethics. I do that unwillingly enough as it is.
What amazes me most is, nobody I know cares. "Oh well. Whatever. They already know everything about me anyway". Fools.

Sounds like PIA to tweak settings now.

I'm pretty tired of having to go in and keep messing with stuff. I check my FB page maybe once a week now anyway. It is a way to keep in touch with family, but usually it's mostly finding out what my cousins had for lunch or how many miles they ran today. Anything of importance we have each others email anyway.

I'll think about it too. Maybe I'll shut it down for a while, if I miss it I can start it back up.

Hey, whadda ya want for free, huh?

Being so far away from people I have known all my life; FB was a Godsend. When people "take a break" I think "easy for you to say, you see half your FB friends on a semi-regular basis anyway". It would be very hard to give it up at this point for me. I am an addict I would have to admit. I have down paeriods, but that would mean I only check it once maybe twice a day. I suppose that in itself is a realization that I should back away. I will give it some thought.

I'm on FB in the AM for maybe a half hour or so, but not getting any info I can't get on a handful of other news sites. And the people I want to be in touch with on a regular basis, well, that's what phones, coffee shops, and email are for.

Sure, it's fun and sometimes you learn things. But IMHO, there's not nearly enough value added to offset the fact that Facebook is just "liking me" for the few nickels it might make off of me.

Well, it's not like I'm trying to incite a mass exodus. This is just my personal POV.

Not the same issue, but this might feed the fires a bit more. This whole business of megabillionaires is disgusting. No more so than earlier spectacles of conspicuous consumption, but it's what we've got to confront nowadays. Our very own Gilded Age.

I've not bonded with FB at all. For one, has been hard for me to figger it out . I don't think about it much. Usually I check it when I get the email notification . Sometimes I check a few "friends" . I don't put anything on there much. Nothing of importance.

What has bothered me is in the photography area. People appreciate good photography anymore because of the dumpy images posted there. Images that 5 year olds could take with these pretty poor apps they think are cameras on dumb phones.

Even those that are selling their photos don't know what makes a good photograph or what keeps an image from being dumpy. The proliferation of what they see on FB just exacerbates the problem.
