My Mom used to serve us grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup made with milk for lunch from time to time. On those days, the world seemed perfect.
I love fried baloney, too, Lea.
I take the tomato soup a step further, with milk of course, but I also add in some shredded cheese, colby melts good, but a good yellow cheese of any kind will work. sometimes I ad a slice of baloney to the grilled cheese.
Now this comfort food is from the really deep south.
Picadillo 1 lb of very lean ground beef one small to medium onion, chopped a couple of garlic cloves, minced a cup of vino seco Edmundo 8 oz. can of tomato sauce 1 tbsp. oregano 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. cumin a sprinkle of ground red pepper handful of green olives, chopped salt and pepper
Sautee the onion and garlic Add the beef and everything else Stir Cook Eat.

I am not that much of a foodie, but I had to smile when I saw this line to open it up. I am glad you don't shy away from such a statement. I was not born in a trailer park, but background-wise I might as well have been, and that's okay. We are more than where we came from, much more. And those places are more than they are labelled to be.
I truly believe those born under adverse conditions and improve their lot are to be proud. The same goes fo groups of people. Kinda like an inverse class system IMHO
There are 10 kinds of people. Those that understand binary and those that don't.
