A few years back, I was on a flight back to the US. There were a number of people, mostly men, who were from Vietnam I think, seated near me. As the flight took off, but too late to stop it actually taking off, it become apparent there was one more man than there were seats. The flight attendants were not amused obviously. He was given an open seat for the take off, and then disappeared with flight attendants. I never did hear what happened or what the situation was.

If it were me, I'd strike-up a conversation with someone on line during the screening process in the hope that the Security Personal would ASSUME that the person he'd attached himself to was his parent... when you think about it....from there on out, he'd be more or less INVISIBLE
The Ticket person would ASSUME he wouldn't be carrying his own ticket........ get it?
Unless they were really paying attention and tracking his movements, Security would just keep passing him through on a series of assumptions, everyone assuming someone else had seen a ticket.
he grabbed an empty seat, and the attendant, too busy fussing with getting the passengers settled-in, pre-take-off rigmarole, ..assumed everyone belonged or they wouldn't be there.
Prolly wasn't until they began making coffee (& counting heads) that things didn't add up.
Mom worked there and it seems he has a history of sneaking in places.
According to the Star Tribune, Moore said child protective workers have investigated the boy's family life four times.
"The reports have been inconsistent and there have been no injuries to the child; however, there is a pattern of behavior," the newspaper quoted her as saying in the e-mail.
The newspaper said Moore wrote that the boy was arrested two weeks ago after allegedly stealing a car. The e-mail didn't indicate whether the boy was the driver of the car or a passenger, the newspaper reported.
The newspaper also said Moore wrote that the boy has alleged that his mother has held a knife to his throat and that she was "stabbed and died."

Lil fokker may've been "Planning A Little GET-AWAY" in the not-so-good-sense of the phrase!
It was plain from the get-go that what he'd done was intentionally... he was no angel... but without more information I couldn't figure out why he'd want to go to Los Vegas.
Ted had ventured that perhaps his father lived there.. and he was trying to re-unite with him, I mused that he was a geeky kid wanting to test a theory of "How-To Break the Bank @ Vegas" or a Joy-Ride, or running away from home, or a bad home situation ...or testing how far he'd get, but given his history, I tend to doubt any but the worst possible motive. I hope I'm wrong.
