The act of changing one's mind because
President Obama has agreed with you:
Blacktrack

(From Bill Maher.)

Hehe. Funny but true.

But disagree with the name.

I think we, as a populace, have spent too much time thinking of Obama as being a "black" president instead of "our " President.

Dave... only some people think of him as anything other than our President. I am not one of those people. No matter if he was Barney Fife... he holds the Office and deserves the respect that goes with that Office. To lower ourselves as a society and country to sneer at him openly and make threats and racial remarks... says more about us than him. It also lowers us and the office.

A lot of citizens hated Bush... but did not act like pigs about it. Well... not to this level.
A new bar has been set... and it isn't higher.

While I agree with much of what you said,
IMHO, R*E*S*P*E*C*T needs to be EARNED.
and I've seen NOTHING that this man's ever done
to make me loose Respect for him or The Office

[rant]
Here we had a President WILLING TO WORK WITH
& FOR the People of the United States to make
life so much better in every respect and it's
tearing me apart to see this opportunity, that
we may never see again, squandered away with
(if the GOTP has it's way) NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT.

shoulda-woulda-coulda

No mended infrastructure, no renewable energy,
no improved education, no immigration reforms,
and if they get away with it, no healthcare

I'm just so disgusted frown
[rant]

Cel.. I just read your post 4 times.

This does not make a lick of sense to me.
My interpretation is that the first sentence negates the rest of your post.

I agree with MrB, but I think the point of "backtrack" is that a whole bunch of people don't see Obama as "our" president--not even as president. And the reason for that may be complicated, but primarily it's because he's black. Limbaugh's race baiting is notorious, and I know that he's only a talking head on radio, but he speaks for a group of people whose ignorance and prejudice are so huge that they are hard to measure.

OK, it was 2 distinctly different statements
my opinion, & why I hold it (an unending rant)

1 I respect the man
2 but so much more was possible
had he not been blocked at every turn.

He did so much, and was willing to do more
it's just a low-down-dirty-shame that they chose
to bog everything down for who-the-hell-knows-why.

hope that makes more sense

Thanks.. it does.

Obummer.. that's what they call him.
I have to wonder if he was white.. what this administration would have achieved.
Shame.. so petty.

They will sh!t their pants if Hillary wins next.
The polls currently show that 70% of Democrats would vote for her.
Of course pollls this far out are relatively meaningless... but still, that's strong.
What previous candidate on either side of the aisle showed such strong numbers 3 years out?
