"Illegal" is a matter of what the law says. So marijuana is illegal here in PA. It's legal in CO and WA. If I had a blunt in PA, I'd end up in jail; in WA, I'd end up with a bag of munchies handed to me by an obliging Seattle cop.
So yeah--adapt the immigration law. It's not necessary to make every undocumented alien a citizen, but there are other ways to deal with the issue that recognize the economic importance of that population of folks and the contributions they make to this country. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out. But it does take more willingness to think than our lovely Congress is willing to spend.

"I've always felt, but seldom hear, how LUCKY We've Long Been to be Bordered by 2 FRIENDLY COUNTRIES!!"
Another very good point. Looking all through history, around the world, it is a very rare thing. We had one war a piece with these two countries, but that's about it.

Immediately after the passage, they DID send jobs to Mexico. My B-I-L had a Chrysler built down there. BUT over time, even Mexico was more expensive (poor infrastructure and much corruption) and companies sent jobs to the sweat factories of Asia. Problem was NAFTA opened Pandoras Box and once opened you have NO control where anything goes.

Yep, it's just a formality, like speed limit and other things. . It's been mentioned about the Mexican people. I personally think they are a wonderful people. Overwhelmingly, the ones I've known have been warm and friendly.
If it's about " illegal" I say let everyone cone and go as the please. Anyone here needs to be taxed of course.
