Got a new alarm clock this morning..did not buy one....just got a wake up call by the local high school marching band....from the football field at the high school doing their morning practice ....rather pleasant sounding...sure beats...beep beep beep
I've posted several times I'm sure about them shooting off the town's fireworks every year OVER my House from the same FBField @ the end of my block.. the same one the HSBand uses for Marching Band practice... PM me if you find A Snooze Button.
Back in Dodge the Dodge City Red Demon marching band practices early also. Their traditional garb is of western attire with Tan Golon hats . The two drum majors have carried six shooters loaded with blanks which they fire at the end of some routines .
Not sure if they do that now.

At least you're a music lover. I'm guessing that helps.
We live next to a golf course, which is great in many ways.
Two little hitches, though. One, they have some ventilation equipment at the club house that whines all day during the months with no snow. Two, the people mowing the course are out at 5AM or so cutting the grass each day. I finally got used to the sound of mowing this year, after living here seven years. Still bothers Mrs. Stumpy, though.

Contact your Local Co-operative Extention and have them contact the Grounds Keeper to advise them that Grass SHOULD NOT Be Cut In the Mornings.
Cutting grass is essentially Wounding Every Single Blade of Grass..left to then face the Heat of Day doubles-down on the Stress Factor! Conventional Wisdom dictates that the grass Should be cut in the Eventing, and allowed to recover, during the Night.
Water at dawn... allowing the water to soak the root zone and allowing the blades of grass to dry in the early sun to avoid fungal & disease problems. Cut at Dusk to allow the wounded blades to seal & heal.
& SHARPEN Your Blades Every Spring to make surgical cuts rather than tearing the blade which is Much harder to heal.
Mustang Band at The North Jersey Band Festival 2010
BONUS Worthless Trivia: The FORD MUSTANG was Named for a Marching Band: While I was attending this school, The Ford Motor Co. held a Nation-Wide Competition offered to Dealerships TO NAME THEIR LATEST FORD CAR The owner's daughter of The Ford Dealership (Fette Ford) less than a mile from our school was a member of the Clifton Mustangs... at her request he entered the name... ...AND WON! The Mustang Emblem's the Logo on the Football Stadium.
