Just for chuckles, I decided to try a custom image. I found a screen layout schematic for the iPhone 4s and the proper dimensions and resolution, and did this:



Not sure why the screenshot threw the logo a bit out of alignment, because on my phone, it's dead-on to the grid. And even with the schematic and prescribed values, it still took some trial and error to get the size and placement just right.

A fun exercise for a rainy morning, if nothing else. wink

If it was me, I'd get pretty frustrated that the "G" app never launches ;-)

But, yeah, I spent a couple hours of doing nothing but trying-out different pics from my photostream for wallpapers -- pretty mezmerizing! Also, it's amazing how a photo you'd think would be really nice simply doesn't work at all with the buttons/icons ...

I'm pretty sure it has to do with reading the drop shadow as part of the graphic and adjusting for it. How it did that is another question entirely.
